Patient Review 1:
Dr. Lum worked in conjunction with Dr. Brian Tang to do some implants on my front teeth. I had a bridge which fell off and couldn't be fixed. It took a few months to fix to process but now my teeth look even better than with the bridge! I wish I did the implants rather than the bridge from the get go! Dr Lum was excellent and explained everything and quarterbacked the whole process. I felt like in was in control of my treatment the entire time and was never pressured to do anything. Dr. Lum repeated so many times, I can quote him, "We'll do what you want, when you're ready." Great guy!

I guess it's about time I review Dr. Lum. After all, I've been seeing him ever since he opened up shop here. Generally seeing a dentist doesn't rank on the top of anyone's list, but Dr. Lum and his staff try their best to ensure it's as comfortable as possible. Being that it's a new office, all their equipment is brand new and state of the art. They have cool digital xrays, very comfy chairs and computerized patient education material. Dr. Lum is UCSF trained and as I understand, teaches there so you know he has to be good. It's hard to find a good dentist so I think he'll be my dentist for a long time.

I agree with all the reviews about Dr. Lum. He is just great. After reading all the positive reviews on Doctor Oogle, I decided to give him a try. I used to go to a dentist in Milpitas and she always left me with some doubts about whether I actually needed the treatment I received. So I took the plunge and made an appointment even the though receptionist seemed a little slow (I think she was new at the time). Dr. Lum was very friendly and always offered a positive spin on things. I've very much enjoyed the care I've received so far and am very glad I took the plunge.

It's been years since I've seen a dentist and although I've had insurance, I've just been too lazy to go. Recently, a good friend of mine recommended Dr. Lum. I had my cleaning and some fillings done. I was happy overall. His work was done comfortably and his staff was friendly. I love his massage chair!

I visited Dr Lum after reading good reviews of him from this site. I am very happy with my care so far and the reviews have been very accurate. Talking to Dr Lum is like talking to an old friend. He spent a lot of time explaining to me the pros and cons of getting a bridge. He even had a cool video to show to help me understand what I was getting myself into. Eventually I chose to do the dental implant and I'm very happy with the result. Highly recommended.

My previous dentist visits always left something to be desired. So I went to Dr. Lum with not very high hopes. I just wanted to get in and get out. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by my treatment there. The office is nice and new and brightly lit. The massaging dental chairs were very comfortable. Dr. Lum was very professional and courteous and most importantly knowledgable and thorough. After checking out my x-rays, he sent me to a specialist to check out my wisdom teeth and make sure they were OK. My previous dentist (who I've seen for 7 years) didn't even know I had those wisdom teeth!

I haven't been to the dentist in over 3 years. I was in college, and didn't have insurance. Now I've gotten a job and health insurance, I can afford to go. When I scheduled my appointment, I was afraid Dr. Lum would find all sorts of problems and cavities. I was very happy when he told me I should floss more and that was it. He didn't belittle me or give me any stern lectures like a couple of my previous dentists did. He was very nice about. From now on, every 6 months for me!

After enduring years of mediocre and sub-standard service from my previous dentist, I decided to make the switch to Dr. Lum and boy am I glad I did! My visit to him was awesome and I'm actually NOT dreading my next appointment which involves some major work for a crown! He and his staff were professional, gentle and very helpful and informative about explaining everything in way that makes sense and is easy to understand. The office and equipment is all modern and top-notch as well.I highly recommend Dr. Lum to anyone on the fence about choosing a new dentist.

I have gone to several dentists in the past, and was never really happy with them. I just recently found Dr. Lum through referral from a friend. I am glad I did.Dr. Lum is very caring and down-to-earth. He answered all questions in simple language that I can understand. He has WONDERFUL bedside manners. His office staff is very helpful. They took care of all the insurance paperwork. The office has evening and weekend hours, which is great for me since I work during the weekdays.I am glad I found Dr. Lum. My family now goes to him, and I will definitely recommend him to my friends.

Dr. Lum is an excellent dentist. I have been having Invisalign (braces) treatment for 6 months now. Before I received my braces, Dr. Lum spent a lot of time answering all of my questions. He explained the different options to me in simple terms, and gave me the pros and cons. He made sure that I understand and am comfortable with the information. Dr. Lum is very caring and has wonderful bedside manners. He is gentle and always asks me to make sure I don't feel pain or discomfort. He truly cares about his patients.One time, about 3 months into my Invisalign treatment, the bottom brace was not fitting properly. Dr. Lum asked if I could come to the office that day, which I did. He examined me and found that there is a small chip in the brace. He immediately ordered a replacement for me, The new set felt much more comfortable. I truly appreciate Dr. Lum's caring attitde and prompt response to my problem. I have since referred two co-workers for dental treatment. Both of them are extremely happy that they found a great dentist. Thanks. Dr. Lum.

I've seeing Dr. Lum for a few years now. He patient-friendly dentist. He takes his time with his patients, always explaining why he does a certain procedure and all the options I have. It is also easy to schedule an appointment because he is open long hours every day and also available on weekends.

Dr. Lum is an honest dentist I can fully trust. He doesn't overprescribe treatment. I intially went to him for a 2nd opinion because I was quoted by my previous dentist that I needed 11 fillings and 2 crowns. I was suspicious since I've only had 3 fillings in my life. Then I went to Dr. Lum for a 2nd opinion and he said I only needed 2 fillings. I was so relieved to hear that! He showed me in a mirror where the problem areas were and they were fairly obvious. Dr. Lum also has a very gentle touch and a geniune concern for his patients. Wish I had gone to his office sooner.

Dr. Lum is very best!!! Hands down!!! I went in to see him about my toothache which was killing me for a few days. He performed a "temporary root canal" that day for me, even with his packed schedule. Although the tooth was still sensitive, it felt *much* better that night. I returned a few days later to have the real root canal done. Very straightfoward procedure as Dr. Lum took the time to explain to me what he was doing every step of the way. Very good chairside manners. Excellent dentist.

I had a filling replaced due to re-decay around the old one. Dr. Lum replaced the old silver filling with a composite filling. Afterwards, it *extremely* sensitive to anything cold. I voiced my concerns and Dr. Lum took to time to see me again on 3 seperate occasions for no charge to make sure my tooth was doing OK. Each time, he would run through a bunch of tests and find the tooth is doing fine and reassure me that the was part of the healing process and some teeth need time to "calm down" after a filling. Well, slowly, but surely it got better! It's still just slightly senstive to cold (filling is 3 weeks old), but is much improved now. I expect it to be completely better soon! Thanks Dr. Lum for all the time and dedication! Recommended my husband already!

i haven't been to a dentist for years and showed up at dr. lum's office in pain. dr. lum took his time explaining why i had to get out my decaying molars and listened to my concerns and fears. in the end, he ended up having to "surgically" remove them, but he was technically excellent and talked me through the entire procedure. a regular from now on!
