Before the doctor’s years of experience came his years as a student. Dr. Provines received his D.M.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a certificate in Periodontics from Boston University. He studied implantology under some of the best practitioners in the United States, Germany, and Italy. Dr. Provines also served as a dentist in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He is a member of several medical societies, including the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society, and the Santa Clara County Dental Society. Dr. Provines is also a fellow of the American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration, and is on the advisory board of MedPlexus, a medical software company in Santa Clara. At the end of the day, it all comes down to the patients for Dr. Provines. His career philosophy is to ensure that his patients have a positive dental experience. On the occasion that he is not fighting advanced gum disease or rebuilding a bite, Dr. Provines focus is on spending time with his family. He also enjoys fly-fishing, golf, and skiing.
