As an adult with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, I know first hand the benefit of having implant tooth replacement. Because my teeth are weaker than average, they are susceptible to fracture and the treatment options are extraction or implant replacement. Most implant surgeons are reluctant to treat OI patients. They shy away from these cases because the teeth are fragile and there are additional complexities related to medications endocrinologists sometimes prescribe. This leaves extraction as the most common form of treatment.

Dr. Lakha has successfully performed four implant tooth replacement procedures on me over the past eleven years. He is very thorough, highly skilled and establishes an excellent rapport with his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Lakha.

15 years ago when I first went to Dr. Lakha I had had extensive root damage from years of braces to the point that I was loosing my front teeth. I could not bite into anything at the time, even a slice of pizza required a knife and fork. I was missing my two fang teeth and my 4 front teeth had to be removed because of so much root damage. Dr. Lakha had to graft bone to build up the front of my upper jaw and then he put in 4 implants and a bridge was built with 6 new teeth. This process took place over a couple years I believe but when it was finished, I literally cried tears of joy.... it was life changing and worth every penny.... I could now bite into anything. 15 years later I saw Dr. Lakha with some questions about my jaw, he was as warm and welcoming as ever and was able to explain what was going on (just needed some bridge work after 15 years) and set my mind at ease. Dr. Lakha is literally the best doctor of any kind that I have ever been to, during some of the bleakest times in my life he has always brought light with his calm. I have had two bone grafts and dental implants. This was a long procedure since I was ill for several months between the bone grafts and the implants. Dr Lakha was completely accommodating. He gave a careful description of the procedures and a detailed costing before starting. The surgeries were always on time, very well organized, and with minimum pain. Recovery from anesthesia after each procedure was quick and with no requirement for pain medication. Dr Lakha's staff coordinated very smoothly with my Dentist, Dr Demarta for the fitting of the crowns. I am completely satisfied with the results.

I received an implant from Dr. Lakha and he removed my four wisdom teeth. In 2003 I had the implant put in and it is still a complete success. In 2009 I had my bottom two wisdom teeth taken out at the age of 26, and even at my later age for this type of surgery, it was successful and my recovery went extremely well without literally any bruising. I felt calm and in good hands both times I went to Dr. Lakha. His assistants are so friendly and help to put you at ease as well.

My upper left molar (tooth #14) was extracted and successfully replaced with an implant by Dr. Lakha. A long-term, chronic infection of the nasal sinus near the tooth cleared up immediately after the extraction of the old tooth. My subsequent implant has been completely successful.

Originally, this tooth had a very extensive filling. Then, more than ten years ago, after a root canal by a different dentist but before being crowned, it fractured while eating. Several repairs ensued, including crown replacement, but there was often low-level pain, mostly of the gums, and also a very persistent sinus infection in the maxillary sinus just above the tooth, which led to an almost continual, low-level nasal discharge on the left side. Only after living with this for years did I get a referral from my primary dentist to Dr. Lakha for consideration of an implant. Extraction of the tooth revealed severe chronic infection, but Dr. Lakha was able to cleanse and preserve the socket. I also received some graft material to augment the bone of the socket area. Later, after the implant was done, I returned to my primary dentist for the crown. The final outcome has been excellent in every respect. My thanks to Dr. Lakha and his team!

I had a difficult front tooth extraction and implant ( Nobel RP, 4.3 X 16 mm, TiUnite Surface, Custom abutment of #9).The implant and gum surgery turned out beautifully, no one would know the extensive work that was done in the front area. Dr. Lakha has a wonderful chair-side manner. He's very calm, almost serene, patient and is willing to take as much time as necessary to answer any and all questions. He told me, "patients who get the information they need, heal faster and have a better outcome." He was always realistic and informed me of all possible adverse outcomes & complications and told me what to expect in the future (he even gave me the specifications for the implant should he retire and I need a crown restoration). He's very experienced and a gifted technician. His staff is very friendly and supportive and called after each procedure to see if I was having any problems, discomfort and able to eat. They were prompt in making appts. and were on time when I arrived. Dr.Lakha also communicated with my dentist and prosthodontist giving them updates and coordinating the restoration and on-going care. If I ever needed this type of dental work again in the future, or someone needed a referral, I would highly recommend him.

I had a tooth implanted right next to my front tooth and it was extremely successful. All the other dentists in my area told me my mouth was too small, etc, etc because I have goldenharr syndrome (and I guess doctors and dentists get scared by this), but he was able to get that implant in and it looks amazing. You can't even tell the tooth is fake! The pain was minimal and he was very attentive and followed up a lot. I'm extremely pleased with the results.

Dr. Lakha repaired a multi-dimensional defect with a 3-dimensional graft. The entire defect was corrected in one surgery, and without complications. Though I'm young (20's), traditionally this type of defect is treated as either irreparable or with marginalized success. Dr. Lakha has proved this wrong: I can't imagine how things could have gone any better. My grafting was a complete success, and I am very thankful I found Dr. Lakha.

He is confident, highly skilled, gentle, and attentive. His competence as a surgeon is matched by his bedside manner. He addressed every concern I had, and attended to every request.

I dislike dentists and dental surgeons just on principle, but I have no reservations about Dr. Lakha whatsoever. Though his services do not come cheap, I trust him completely, and that makes him worth every penny.

If you need grafting, or if you want a second opinion about it, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Lakha.

During the last 17 months I had extensive dental work which included extensive bone grafting and placement of 6 implants & 8 new teeth . I lost my teeth at a very young age due to very unpleasant circumtances. As a result, much of my maxillary bone had to be grafted to grow back the large amount of bone I lost in the past 20 years. Dr. Lakha is a very skilled and very gentle specialist. I had lost three back molars quite some time ago and wanted to have implants.

I had been told by other doctors that (1) I did not have enough of my own bone to support implants and (2) an attempt could be made through bone grafting, although it was questionable that it would succeed and that cadaver bone would be used.

Then I found Dr. Lakha. He was able to successfully graft my own bone using growth factors. I now have three implants and they are comfortable and beautiful.

Implants are an expensive and not always successful endeavor to undertake - my sister's husband had an implant that was replaced 3 times - but Dr. Lakha was able to overcome a very difficult set of issues with my case.

Also, this is a surgical procedure and not to be compared to the everyday visit to the dentist so you want to take extra care in your selection of provider. I found the whole process in Dr. Lahka's practice to be professional, caring and proficient.

I would highly recommend Dr. Lakha, particularly if you have to have an bone graft or have a more difficult case and want professional and skilled care.

Dr. Lakha did dental implant for my father (single top), my mother (multiple lower) and myself (single top) and we all have great results. My mother's was the most challenging due to her health and week jaw but Dr. Lakha did a complete pre-treatment and post-treatment follow up. My mother is still praising Dr. Lakha for his care till this day.

My crown on the implant fell off after 6 years and I went back to see Dr. Lakha because I didn't like the dentist who did my crown. Dr. Lakha noticed the abutment was damaged by the dentist who did the crown so he gave me a brand new abutment without charge. This is 6 years after he did my implant and a new abutment would have cost a few hundred dollars.

So far VERY good. I'm about to go in for third surgery in implant series. This guy is VERY good. I only took one pain pill in two surgeries. He is highly recommended by dentists in the area. I service a couple dental office buildings and the dentists I know all tell me Lakha is the best. I've had friends who have lost implants, so I want the best. I'll post follow-up when it's all over. He seems pricey, but if you lose an implant, the whole process is a wa$te. Spend the money and get it done right the first time. That is the cheapest solution.

Fair warning, I've heard if you do alcohol or drugs, you limit your success on implant surgery, root canal, or anything. I'm not an expert, but the dentist who owns the buildings mentioned above told me alcohol imhibits interstitial tissue recovery, that's anything like bone to tendon or bone to implant. Don't drink for a month after the procedure if you want to keep the new work. If you can't stay away from the booze, get a bridge.

Going to an oral surgeon was not a trip I was looking forward to. I had an impacted wisdom tooth, though, and my regular dentist said it was trouble waiting to happen. I had put it off long enough! A cousin (a dentist) suggested I see Dr. Lakha.

Dr. Lakha is caring, reassuring and never rushed. He explains the planned treatment fully and answers all questions. His staff is of the same ilk -- all exceptional people. The surgery itself was very easy and the staff even sent me home with my own stuffed animal to hold the ice pack with!

The office is soothing, attention is no less than grand! If you have to go through oral surgery Dr. Lakha is the professional to see. My experience happened a long time ago (about 1987) but this splendid office has left me with many positive memories.

I have referred many patients to him and every patient comes back with rave reviews for him. Now I only have rave reviews to add. Dr. Lakha has a calm demeanor and excellent hands.
