The first thing I noticed upon entering Dr. Johns' office was how clean and up to date everything was. Having not been to a dentist in over 5 years may have handicapped my sense of what modern dentistry had evolved into, but I left that initial visit feeling very satisfied at how the staff treated me and took every opportunity to make sure I understood what was going on with my teeth.

Dr. Johns seems to know most of his patients by name and face. I ran into him in the Burlingame Apple store recently and had a total "uh oh" moment. He reminded me that my permanent crown was still there and that I had missed my last cleaning as well. If you go for great customer service and reliability then this guy should be your dentist.

I schedule cleanings three times a year because I'm so impressed with him and his staff and enjoy seeing them; I've always had anxiety about dentists' visits, but no longer! Even the administration of the anesthetic was nearly pain-free. Dr. Johns removed my old silver fillings and put in a new composite material in 6 places... now no one can tell that I have fillings! The entire procedure took only 1 hour and I was back to work immediately afterwards. In the past I've had Dentists that berated me while I was in their chair; Dr. Johns and his staff have been the complete opposite - I feel more like a family than a nameless patient. I grew up and went to school in Millbrae. Shortly after my military service was finished in 1969 I hit the road and traveled to Europe and North Africa. I ended up in India where I lived for almost 20 years. Within a few years my mouth had become a sort of dental museum. Once I even had a filling done with a pedal powered drill in India. During the mid 80's,when my mouth really began to fall apart, I started to return to periodically, (every 3 to 4 years), to Millbrae to visit family and tend to my dental rehab. Dr Johns systematically and thoroughly took care of my needs and made every effort to accommodate me during my brief visits. In 1996 I took up residence again in California, now in Petaluma. I must say that whether I'm coming from the North Bay or half way around the world I am consistently treated well. I had always wanted to get some veneers to fix my smile, but was gunshy about getting it done. Living in Los Angeles, I see really bad veneer jobs all the time, and I didn't want to end up with a set of chicklets in my mouth. I couldn't be happier that I finally sucked it up and went to Dr. Johns. First of all, he made time for me with my school and now work schedule to come up to the Bay Area from Los Angeles whenever it was most convenient for me. He even met me at 9 on a Sunday morning for my first visit. The whole time that the work was being done, there was so much care taken to make sure that I was comfortable, and that I wasn't feeling any pain. Also, because I live in Los Angeles, and he knew that I just wanted them to be done, Dr Johns had my case hurried up, and I actually got the final ones on two weeks before I had expected.

Going to Dr Johns was the best choice for me and my veneers. He was unbelievable accomodating, and they turned out perfectly. They look so natural! He even made sure that there were little imperfections in the veneers so that they look more like real teeth. You really can't tell the difference. I was walking downtown Millbrae w/a toothache and stopped at one dentist first (because i am very picky with who is working on my teeth) to see if i could meet them before coming in for a visit, and were rude.... so i kept walking, and came across Dr. Johns office, and the lady in the front office was so nice, had me go back and meet Dr. Johns, and he took a look at my tooth right away, after a great conversation. When I was first referred to Dr. Johns I was extremely fearful of all dentists due to a childhood dentist that did not use novacaine. Dr. Johns and his staff took my fear into consideration, and worked with me to relax me, causing me absolutely no anxiety whatsover. Since then I regularly get my teeth cleaned, etc. He has redone my mouth by removing all the silver fillings out and I have a complete white mouth now with great porcelain fillings. I am now a visaline patient of his and it is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Due to my busy work schedule, it is difficult for me to make appointments. At all times, the office has rescheduled for me, and accomodated my schedule. My three adult children go to Dr. Johns and I have recommended everyone I know to him. Dr. Johns is the Man! I crashed my bike 10 years ago and chipped two teeth. Another dentist put on two crowns that looked horrible. I then went to Dr. Johns. He made custom crowns and put in a TON of work making sure the color,clarity and shape matched exactly to my existing teeth. I was totally amazed at how much effort he put into helping my teeth look their best. Its so rare these days that someone goes the extra mile. I've honestly never experienced someone care as much about their work as Dr. Johns did when he was making my crowns. I've gone from being self conscience of my teeth to constantly flashing smiles.

When I was younger I chipped my bottom front tooth playing with a spring. I have had it bonded on several times until I was old enough to have a root canal, and then after I got my braces off, a veneer. Not only was this whole process completely painless, but the final product looks amazing. You cant even tell which tooth it was. The color blends in perfect with the rest of my teeth, and the shape is flawless. I am very grateful that Dr. Johns is a perfectionist, because I am 19 years old, and my smile is very important!

I have been blessed with well aligned and straight teeth and was hesitant to have dental veneers. But my front teeth were looking thin and showing signs of age and small fractures. Had broken a small piece off recently and had it repaired.

Dr. Johns recommended veneers for the four front teeth. I wanted stronger teeth that would not change my look and would stop potential problems of chipping orf breakage. He did not change my orignal look but the teeth are so much whiter and youthful loooking. The results are excellent and my teeth feel very strong.

Procedure was not painful at all, just a little inconvenient to wear a temporary while the final veneers were made. The RDA was excellent and provided a lot of advice and answers to questions.

I have always enjoyed the ambiance of his office and personalities of the staff over the past nine years.

I had always been afraid of dentists, but I knew I'd have to go to someone sooner or later. My mother-in-law recommended Dr. Johns to me. I went in and expected to come out as scared as always. But instead Dr. Johns worked with me. He knew I did not like dentists, and he wanted to prove me wrong. He listened to me and my fears, and then started working with me.

My teeth cleaning was done super gentle, and when it came to the tough stuff, like root canals, he numbed me up gently and good, and during the whole procedure he was talking with me making sure I was comfortable. He even made me laugh.

I am a new patient to Dr. Johns. I was referred by a co-worker after I had told her of my fear of going to the dentist. She guaranteed me my fears would be put to rest because of how at ease the entire staff would make me feel. She was right. At my first appt.( for a cleaning long overdue) I didn't have time to be nervous because there was no wait after I checked in. I told them of my fears and they offered different flavors of numbing gel and assured me they would respond quickly if I even flinched. On my 2nd visit (also no waiting) I had 4 fillings replaced and it went extremely well.

I made a mistake by going to this other dentist in San Mateo for a root canal and it was the worst dentist experience of my life.
