Case Description
Hi: I have a very loose upper front tooth. What are my options, to get this fixed, and how much does it cost. I had loosedned it 8 yrs back from a fall, but was told to keep it that way till it falls out. Now it is very loose, and i want to figure out my options, and how much it will cost. I have dental ins, so that is not an issue. Thanks.

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Hi, Without seeing an xray to eval the surronding bone it is difficult to tell what your options are. If the tooth is loose due to bone loss the prognosis of that tooth may be hopeless. With that in mind the options are extract the tooth and place an implant and crown or to do a bridge. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. I would be happy to go over the options with you and offer you a free consultation. Contact our office to schedule an appointment.Sincerely,Dr. Field650 948 5524www.pccd.net

Most likely this tooth needs to be removed and have an implant or a bridge placed. If the tooth is very loose, you should have it treated soon as it can become infected and painful. Feel free to contact our office, and Dr. Zeidler can speak to you personally. zeidlerdentalgroup.com

I concur with the previous responses. If the tooth is hopeless the best treatment option is to replace it with an implant supported single crown, thereby avoiding altering the adjacent teeth. However there can be circumstances that require other options. With this being an anterior tooth esthetics can be the highest factor determining the proper treatment options. I can say the if this is a fairly straight forward case meaning there is no need for bone and/ or soft tissue grafting the $5000 estimate is fairly accurate. . If other forms of treatment are required the fee could be significantly more. Also, your dental insurance may not have some of the treatment options as benefits. If you have further questions I would be happy to intertain them either by email or phone.

If the tooth is loose, it most likely has some kind of infection. It would be a good idea to have it extracted. The extraction site will have to heal before anything is done. But, in short, your options include bridge, implant, or some kind of flipper or removable partial denture. The prices vary greatly and that is something that can be discussed in person. We can do a complimentary consultation for you. However, no x-rays will be taken. Otherwise, depending on your insurance, we might be in-network. Call us and we can check for you. This should be taken care of ASAP. The longer you wait, the worse it will get. Thank you for your inquiry.-Dr. Pries
