Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Sorry to hear about your front tooth... I would need to see an x-ray of the tooth to determine if all you would need is crown lengthening. Is the tooth sensitive? Is the fracture near the pulp (nerve) of the tooth? With a fair prognosis, an implant may be your best long-term treatment option. Please visit my website at www.MarcosAndMarcosDDS.com and call 650-593-9888 if you are interested in an appointment.Sincerely,Dr. Anthony Marcos

without seeing xrays there is no way to give you a full diagnosis however in this day and age the most likely best treatment is implant treatment. If it was mine and i needed to have a root canal and post and crown on a tooth broken off at the gumline as you described i would opt for an implant. Other things to consider is whether or not you have a gummy smile.

I agree with other dentists, without x-rays and clinical exam, it is difficult to make a good decision. But I personally will choose to save my own tooth if at all possible. I have successfully saved several teeth in smililar situations. Please visit the Before and After photos on my website. Feel free to make an appointment if you would like a consultation.

It sounds like the tooth broke off at about the bone level....crown lenghtening is basically a procedure where bone is shave around the tooth to expose more of the tooth structure to be able to place a crown on it....it the tooth is not root canal treated then it will need a root canal as well, a post, then a crown....this treatment will cost you around $2500implant should cost around $4500....that includes the extraction, a temporary denture to wear while the sight is healing and the restoration....if you need bone grafting then it will cost a little more....did the $5000 price you were given include all this....if you plan on extracting the tooth, your most economical option is a bridge.....if will cost you around $3000 to extract the tooth, have a temporary denture while the extraction sight is healing and a bridge after the extraction sight has healed....you can call our office to get a free consult if you decide to go with the procedure or if you have any question
