Case Description
I recently had my teet#14 extracted. I believe I have many options now including implant. I havent chosen my implant specialist yet.
I wanted to gauge my choice and see how much an implant will cost me (implant + Crown). I talked to my insurance and figured out they do not cover implants I am not sure about the crowns though.

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

You do have many options. I hope you''''ll consider a free in-office consultation so that we can discuss them as well as what will be most cost-effective and aesthetic for you. I look forward to meeting you and your dental healthcare needs. Best Regards, Dr. Ghorbani - Atherton, CA
Without a doubt the best alternative is an implant supported crown. The reason being that it is a free standing unit, just as a natural tooth. Also, you do not have to have adjacent teeth restored, nor do you depend on two teeth taking the forces of three ( and tooth #14 is your primary functioning tooth in that quadrant).Other options are a fixed bridge from # 13 - 15 or a removeable partial denture. There is a distinct possibility that bone grafting of the sinus will be necessary as the sinus floor often dips into that area, and since the implant depends on adequate bone for support we sometimes have to graft the sinus. This procedure can often be coincidental with the placement of the implant if adequate native bone exists for initial support of the implant fixture. If it is a conventional placement (meaning no grafting needed) then I would expect the fee to be in the $5000 range. If sinus grafting is required, there would be an additional fee which can have a wide range of fees. In my office the fee would be an additional $1985.I hope that this gives you some additional information to help you make your decision.I do not offer free consultaions.Best of luck!
